　　2020年7月大学英语四级作文：Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on the use of translation apps. You can start your essay with the sentence "The use of translation apps is becoming increasingly popular. " You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.

　　首先，通过审题发现，今年7月份的四级作文是一篇比较典型的议论文写作，话题素材为大学生校园学习生活中很常见的现象，翻译软件的使用，所以可以按照议论文结构去完成本篇写作。而且题目更是进一步降低了难度，直接告诉考生首段第一句话的写法“翻译软件的使用越来越受欢迎”，更是符合在写作课堂上老师经常会提到的一种现象引入的写法，方便考生找到一种熟悉感，随之明确此篇文章的结构。

　　其次，确定为议论文之后，先确立写作大纲：

　　第二段可以展开说明两种观点及其支撑论据。认为翻译软件的使用是有好处的学生认为它可以为语言学习带来便利bring benefits to one’s language learning，可以解决学生在做阅读理解时的理解困难，也方便了语言不同者彼此之间的交流provide convenience for people from different language background。比如+例子(旅游)。而也有同学认为过度依赖翻译软件的使用是有坏处的detrimental，它会滋生学生学习的惰性，降低学生学习语言知识点的积极性，从而导致当在考试时，学生的语言能力，尤其是理解和翻译能力也没能得到提高。

　　第三段就是常规的总结：翻译的软件本身对于语言学习者是有好处的，但要适度使用，不可过度依赖。只有这样，才可最大化好处maximize its benefits。

　　The use of translation apps is becoming increasingly popular, enabling students in a large number to benefit a lot. However, there still exists different viewpoint on the use of translation apps that excessive dependence on using such apps is a threat to language learning.

　　People supporting the former view believe that it not only can bring enormous benefits to their study, but also provide much convenience for people from different language backgrounds. For example, it is quite common for people to encounter various problems in communication when they travel abroad. Under this circumstance, translation apps could be a necessity to remove the barriers. By contrast, some students deem that it is harmful to rely on such apps during their study, because it would breed their laziness of reciting words and practice language skills，, leading to the fact that their language ability is not enhanced at all.

　　In conclusion, translation app itself does offer convenience for language learners, but what matters is that one should use it moderately. Only in this way can users maximize its benefits.
