　　How to maintain a satisfying relationship has long been a hot topic. Undoubtedly, mutual understanding and respect ought not to be neglected for its indispensable role in improving interpersonal relationship.

　　For one thing, it is inevitable that there are some misunderstandings and contradictions in a relationship, which ushers in a fact that mutual understanding should be laid more emphasis on for it is always a lubricant in interpersonal relationships.For another,respect is the bedrock of interpersonal relationships. A case in point is my parents who always listen patiently and offer me practical suggestions instead of simply making decisions for me, and in turn I learn to respect and love them the same way as they do, which effectively betters the relationship between us.

　　To sum up, we may draw a conclusion that mutual understanding and respect is of great significance tointerpersonal relationships.We should, accordingly, try to understand and respect others as much as we can to improve the relationships we are in.
