　　The use of translation apps is becoming increasingly popular. Nowadays, a growing number of people install translation apps on their mobile phones or laptops, which allows them to read books and academic journals in different languages. This common phenomenon has aroused a heated debate. As far as I am concerned, the translation apps have both advantages and disadvantages.

　　On one hand, these translation apps are time-saving and efficient. For instance, a host of people who do not have a good command of foreign languages can easily understand foreign reading materials even without the language training. For people who go abroad for business trips or relaxation, they can break language barriers with the assistance of the translation apps. On the other hand, excessive use of translations apps may result in students’ loss of motivation to learn a new language. If students can get access to these apps all the time, they are reluctant to do their utmost to memorize new words or to improve their speaking and writing skills.

　　In conclusion, whether translation apps are conducive to our life and study depends on the way we use it. Only if we use these apps rationally and moderately can we both enjoy the convenience brought by them and at the same time master a new language well.
