Frugality is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. In ancient China, productivity was low, and our ancestors knew well how hard it was to gain labor achievements, so they embraced the concept of thrift. 
In today’s era of abundant material wealth, Chinese people still stick to a Frugal lifestyle, which embodies the philosophy of rational consumption and respect for labor. 
In recent years, the Chinese government has been stepping up efforts to build a resource-conserving society: it advocates the ‘Clean Plate Campaign’ to cut food waste, promotes a simple and low-carbon lifestyle, advances resource recycling, and opposes over-consumption. The development of such a conservation-oriented society has effectively driven the high-quality growth of China’s economy.
