To begin with, attending college meant staying away from my beloved parents and the familiar hometown for the first time. Your kindness and tender care, however, really warmed my lonely heart and healed my homesickness. What’s more, from your sincere support and encouragement, I engaged in various school activities, which enriched my college experience. The last but not the least, your English courses not only opened the gate of the western world, but also equipped me with the weapon of critical thinking, from which I am capable of viewing things from different perspectives.

Dear Parents
I am writing this letter to express my heartfelt thankfulness towards you. In spite of our daily and virtual contact with each other, I still feel it necessary to write a thank-you note and feel it not fully enough to show my indebtedness.
On the one hand, thanks for raising me with so much love and tender care. I know how many difficulties and obstacles you have been went through since my birth. You, however, just overcomed them for sake of strong attachment we have been towards each other. On the other hand, I am truly thankful towards the best education you have provided with. From my childhood, you taught me that I should be a perosn not only of academic competence but also of moral nobleness. And both of you set an good example for me to imitate.
All my gratitude is beyond these simple words. The only thing I hope here is that you can be happy and healthy everyday. And your daughter will do whatever she can to be your pride.

Dear Friend
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for your companying me for those tough days.
As the saying goes: “A friend in need is a friend indeed.” You really show me how helpful and warm a friend can be. Recently, I failed in a crucial examination. Instead of looking down upon me, you just sat beside me and let me pour out countless negative emotions. It is the first time I found that an intimate friend can be as sweet as a family member. Your understanding really enlightened my heart like a bunch of sunshine. What’s more, your optimism and positiveness encouraged me a lot, and rendered me to know failure is just a step-stone to success as long as we persist in.
